Why Life Is the Way It Is

Shirdi Sai Baba teaches that our present circumstances are not accidental or unjust but the natural outcome of actions performed in previous births. According to Baba, every joy and sorrow we experience today is shaped by karma accumulated over time. This understanding removes the sense of randomness from life and replaces it with meaning, responsibility, and spiritual clarity.
When life brings hardship, disappointment, or suffering, Baba advises us not to complain or despair. Instead, He encourages acceptance with patience (Saburi) and faith (Shraddha). Acceptance does not mean helplessness; rather, it is the first step toward inner peace. By realizing that current challenges are the results of past actions, the mind becomes calm, free from resentment, jealousy, and blame. This acceptance helps us endure difficulties with dignity and hope.
Sai Baba also reminds us that karma is not meant to punish but to teach. Every experience—pleasant or painful—offers an opportunity for growth and self-correction. While we may not be able to change the past, we always have control over our present actions. Baba emphasizes that sincere effort, moral conduct, devotion, and compassion in this life can soften the effects of past karma and create a better future, both spiritually and materially.
By taking responsibility for our own karma, we shift from being victims of fate to conscious creators of our destiny. Baba guides us toward mindful living—choosing kindness over anger, humility over ego, and service over selfishness. Through such conscious action, we purify our hearts and gradually free ourselves from the cycle of suffering.
Ultimately, Baba’s teaching on karma leads us to inner peace and spiritual growth. When we accept life as it is, learn from past mistakes, and act righteously in the present, we align ourselves with divine grace. In Baba’s path, karma becomes not a burden, but a bridge—leading the soul toward wisdom, compassion, and liberation.
May Shirdi Sai Baba bless you with the wisdom to accept life as it unfolds, the strength to rise above past karma, and the courage to perform righteous actions today. May faith and patience guide your journey, bringing peace to your heart and clarity to your path.
