The devotee pleads before his Guru alone to fulfill his material needs. He becomes dis-passionate towards wordly objects. He repents after realizing his past mistakes and it&#8217;s repercussions. By empowering the devotee, the Guru purifies his body, remove the fetters of his mind, and leads him on the path of &#8220;God-Realization&#8221;. By the grace of Guru, the devotee becomes &#8220;ego-less&#8221;. This creates an enormous paradigm shift inside him and by sacrificing his self-interest, the devotee yearns to serve the poor and oppressed. He\u00a0develops \u00a0an attitude of &#8220;To serve the Living, is to Worship Narayan&#8221;. Association with the Guru develops his inner qualities. He communicates his thoughts frequently with the <em>Sadguru<\/em>. The Guru&#8217;s consciousness fills the devotee&#8217;s mind with Divinity.<\/p>\n<p class=\"fontplugin_fontid_12799_KingthingsPetrocklight\" style=\"text-align: justify; font-size: 16px;\">Even a householder can be a perfect devotee if he remains satisfied with little, carries out his duties, looks after his family, and offers whatever he receives (food, objects, possessions, etc.) to the Guru. In such a household, not only the head of the family, but every member of the family offers water, fruit, and &#8216;Anna&#8217; to the Guru, before partaking their meal. In such household, the Guru is worshiped both in the morning and in the evening. Guests, poor and destitute are always greeted in such a home.
