Sadgurus<\/em> or Perfect Masters and Qutabs<\/em> attract or reach their disciples when the appropriate time comes to lead them to their spiritual goal. Their attraction becomes so powerful that it becomes difficult for anyone to resist. They always endeavor to change the quality of men that encounter them. Besides bestowing material benefit, they try to uplift them spiritually.<\/p>\n

Once a Jewish doctor, who was working as an eye specialist in the J.J. Hospital, Bombay met Swami Samarth (Shri Akkalkot Maharaj). The doctor was very proud of his professional competence. Seeing him, Swami Samarth asked \u201cTell me Doctor, how many of the eye patients you have treated have lost their eyesight forever?\u201d This sentence made a tremendous impact on the doctor. He realized that many people had lost their sight forever in spite of being treated by him. His ego immediately vanished and thereafter he became a devotee of Swami Samarth. After retirement, the doctor settled down at Akkalkot and served the Master till the last.<\/p>\n

Once Shri Gajanan Maharaj, invited by a devotee Bankatlal went to his farmland to eat cornstalk (bhutta<\/em>). Maharaj, along with a group of devotees sat under a tree, lit a fire and started roasting the corn. Nobody had noticed that there was a beehive on the tree. As the smoke from the fire reached the hive, the honeybees came out in swarms and started stinging everybody. Except Maharaj, all of the devotees ran away. All the honeybees, thereafter, settled on the body of Maharaj, who continued to stay unmoved. Suddenly Bankatlal saw this from a distance and was moved by the plight of Maharaj. When he approached Maharaj to render help, Maharaj, addressing the honey-bees said \u201cYou go back to your own place. My dear devotee Bankatlal is coming this way. He should not have any pain.\u201d No sooner had he uttered these words than the entire swarm of honey-bees returned to the hive. The devotees on their return, saw that Baba\u2019s whole body was full of stings. Ordinarily, no person can quietly bear the stinging of a swarm of honey-bees. All of them started thinking that Maharaj must be in pain. Seeing their plight, Shri Gajanan Avdhoot gave a smile and took a deep breath. At once, all the stings fell out of his body in hundreds and the people were consoled. In this case what the Sadguru did was to take on his own body the pain of the stings, not allowing his children to suffer.<\/p>\n
