Worship and Prayers
One can pray to Baba at any time and at any place. Mental prayer with concentration is better, in case the devotee has developed that capacity. What is necessary is a feeling of love towards Him. The moment a prayer is spoken or is made silently by a devotee, his thought reaches Baba instantaneously. Baba had assured that “Wherever you are, whatever you do, always remember this one thing well, that all that you do is known to Me.” Keep on remembering Him at the back of your mind, while carrying on the routine duties of life. Whenever you have little time take His name. When time permits, meditate on His form, even when sitting on a chair.
If one holds on to Baba always in some form say, taking His name, speaking about Him to others, reading about Him, thinking about Him etc, the mind gets His Support to Sustain and Develop the Inner Power to resist the attacks of ‘Maya’.
It is necessary to simplify the method of worship of the Sadguru. Most of the external rites and rituals are artificial, if they do not evoke inner bhakti. Offering even a single flower with bhava and with unshakeable faith to the Sadguru is sufficient. Do not worry if you cannot do formal ‘pooja’ as others do under more convenient circumstances. If a small pooja before going out and before sleep is done it is fine. It is said in the Vedas that the power of all the Hindu deities are inherent in the form of the Sadguru. So, there is nothing wrong if only the Sadguru is worshiped at home, or if He is worshiped in the form and manner of any deity. It is absolutely necessary to have immense faith in the Sadguru and worship Him as God.
whatever is cooked at home for ourselves, the same should be offered to Baba and can be distributed among others as Prashad. Whatever is offered to Him with a pure thought will be acceptable to Him. It is only our love or “bhava” behind such offerings, which is accepted by the Sadguru. What is important is the quality of thought through which it is offered.
Our first prayer to Baba should be to free us from the bad thoughts and actions i.e. paap, of body and mind and the debts (Rinanubandha) generated through our past lives.
Before we ask for Baba’s grace we should request Baba to make us worthy of His grace. It is necessary to become worthy of His grace before yearning to receive it. If we want the Master or God to shower His grace on us we should be graceful and kind to others including animals.
All the time bearing Baba in mind is the real worship – this is spontaneous worship. To love Baba is the best form of worship.
