On this earth all are bound to go through some amount of suffering, due to the “Prarabdha Karma” of their past lives and of the present life as well. Neither the spiritual nor religious scriptures, nor the Saints say that human beings will not suffer the worldly, mental, or physical problems because no one can go beyond the laws of nature. However, due to the kindness of Baba, their sufferings get reduced and the power of tolerance grows in them. Baba used to take care of all the devotees who came in His shelter. The real pain for a true devotee of Baba is the the pain of separation from the Sadguru, even temporarily.

It is the ‘spiritual pain’ that brings the devotee closer to the Master. Even when undergoing mental or physical pain, he will be in a state of spiritual ecstasy, realizing the compassion and protection given by the Master.

prayers of all, sinners and saints alike, are listened to by the Sadgurus, giving equal importance to all. The Sadguru does not hate a sinner. On the other hand, He tries to render as much help as possible, being aware that a Sick or weak child needs more help. Some of the natives of Shirdi who were charged with the offence of murder and were tried in the court of law were ardent devotees of Baba. Under the divine influence of Baba, their lives slowly changed.

There can be no sin, howsoever evil, in this world which can go beyond the compassion of God. Continue to pray to Baba to remove the sinful proclivities from your mind and make your life peaceful and pure. Continue to pray Baba to bestow His kindness on you.

By doing good to others, you not only exhaust your stock of sins carried forward from the past lives, but also accumulate a stock of virtue (punya). You will also develop the qualities of forgiveness and patience within yourself. Giving happiness to others brings you nearer to Baba. Baba Himself has said this.

Shri Hari (God) will certainly be pleased if you offer Water to the thirsty, bread to the hungry, clothes to the naked, and your verandah to strangers for sitting. If anybody asks for money you may not part with your money, but do not shout at him like a dog. Let an body speak hundreds of things against you, do not react with bitter replies. If you always tolerate such things, you will certainly be happy. Let the world go topsy-turvy, you remain where you are, standing or staying in your own place, calmly observe the show of things passing before You.

(Chapter 18 and 19, Shri Sai Satcharita)

Jai Shri Sai !
