He taught his disciples that true service is an expression of love and compassion towards others, as every act of kindness contributes to the well-being of the world.
The Samaritan of Shirdi
Sai Baba’s love extended beyond the human realm and embraced all living beings. On one occasion, a devotee observed Baba feeding a group of stray dogs that were hungry and suffering. When questioned about his actions, Baba replied, “Why should they suffer? Everything in this universe is God’s creation, and we are all interconnected.” Through this act of kindness towards animals, Sai Baba highlighted the importance of compassion towards all creatures, regardless of their form or species.
As quoted in Shri Guru Bhagavat, volume II (page 24) by Guruji Dr. C B Satpathy:
"He Gurudeba Gurudeba || Bhakta paalita shishu taba
Deena O dukhee bhaktankara || Maataa pari sebaakara"
Oh Gurudev (Oh Master)! The devotee is reared by You like a child. Like a mother, You serve the poor and the miserable devotees.
"Sabu praaneenka paain naatha || Antare tume krupaabanta
